Day 30 was a couple of week ago. I appreciate those who checked up on me, and I appreciate those that thought about me but didn’t check up.
I got some bad blisters on my “good” leg that were painful. They pop up from time to time, especially when I have extra fluid on me, and I had had to miss a few dialysis treatments (not in a row, thankfully, because if you miss a second on, you have to go to the ER at that point) and so was struggling to keep the fluids off.
So it was uncomfortable walking today, but I felt like I could give it a go. And I managed to walk at the faster pace I’d been doing, and for three laps, although I definitely was regretting that last half lap. lol.
I recently had a fistulagram where they did surgery on my fistula. I have what’s called “steal”, where the fistula is designed to allow for larger blood flow so they can pull it for dialysis and put it back. But they were sending too much back to the heart from the fistula, meaning my fingers on my left hand weren’t getting enough blood. They were constantly cold, and I got nerve and muscle damage - I can’t open jars or even ketchup packets with my left hand, and buttoning my shirts is extremely difficult. So I’m hoping the surgery has helped. It’s too soon to tell for sure, but it seems a little better already, so I’m hoping for healing with time.
Worried about Clockwise, my tortie. She’s licked a bald spot near her tail, so we’re going to have to take her in to the vet. The good news is that I got my last paycheck from my old job; the bad news is that it’s very much. And we’re about to go into the slow season, with my wife having fewer hours for the next three months.
We’ll survive, but it’s going to be stupid tight if I don’t find work. Whee.
But anyway. Back to walking. See you tomorrow.
